Started as a dream. Now it has an address.

Orama means vision or dream in Greek. Oikos means home. Put them together and you have the name we chose for something that started as an idea and has been slowly, steadily becoming real.
Orama Oikos — H.O.M.E.S. Haven of Memorable Experiences and Stays.
How it started
I first went to Greece in 2008. I came back. And again. And again. Each time I stayed a little longer and left a little more reluctantly.
At some point the question stopped being "when are we going back" and became "what would it take to stay." That's the question that turned into Orama Oikos.
Where we are now
We have found our place. Chiliadou, a small village near Nafpaktos, on the Delphi Riviera, where the mountains meet the Corinthian Gulf and most people drive through without stopping.
Three maisonette units. Two for guests, Thalassa and Elia. One for us. The paperwork is moving, the Romanian house sale is in progress, and we are closer than we have ever been.
It is not open yet. But it is real, and it is happening.
What Orama Oikos will be
Not a hotel. Not a resort. A small, personal place to stay in a part of Greece that most visitors never see, with someone who has been exploring this country for fifteen years and knows where to go, what to eat, and which roads are worth taking.
Accommodation in Chiliadou. Private transfers. Guided day trips to places like Delphi, Nafpaktos, the Messolonghi lagoon, Cape Tenaro, Meteora. Photography sessions. Food made with local ingredients. And eventually, sea tours on the Corinthian Gulf.
The idea is simple: guests who want to experience Greece rather than just visit it.
This page, in the meantime
Until the doors open, this is where we document everything, the journey, the places we've been, the food, the history, the corners of Greece that don't make it onto the usual lists.
Sixteen years of travel in this country. A lot of photographs. A lot of stories. We're sharing all of it here.
