A New Beginning: Saying Goodbye to the House That Was Our Refuge, Studio, and Home

A new chapter. Thoughts. Emotions. Zero regrets.
Yesterday, we closed a chapter in our journey: we posted the listing to sell our home.
After making sure everything felt right, after giving this house everything it needed, I’m ready to let it go.
To send it forward with good energy. With gratitude.
A dear friend asked if I had any regrets.
My mother told me she feels a little sadness.
But I don’t have any regrets.
Not at all.
On the contrary — I feel joy, peace, and excitement as we take this vital step toward our next plans.
A space that was both studio and home
These past 4.5 years, I’ve been deeply happy here.
I created countless memories with you — the families who came for yearly photo sessions in white, or during our magical Christmas setups.
I edited tens of thousands of photos in this space.
And these walls echoed with baby giggles, children’s laughter, and pure emotion.
Originally, I imagined the upstairs would become a master bedroom — 62 sqm, bigger than my first apartment.
But life had other plans.
Life took us in a new direction
They say that if you want new people and things to enter your life, you have to make space for them.
And I always felt this home was also meant for the person who is now my partner in crazy ideas.
We’ve grown. We’ve learned. And we’ve chosen: to change everything. Radically.
After my divorce, I promised myself I would live with an open heart.
I would embrace challenges.
And leave no room for regret.
Veni. Vidi. Vici.
I know that, most of the time, it’s fear of the unknown that keeps us stuck.
But when you remove fear from the equation… the sky becomes the limit.
What we leave behind… and what we take with us
This little video was made for us.
For memory.
For closure.
With our little house.
Our refuge.
It’s the place we always returned to after each vacation — except for the last two, because truthfully… our hearts are already in Greece.
But here, we still cook with joy, in the kitchen we built with care, ideas, and effort.
When we first moved in, we had nothing but a rice cooker from Lidl and kept our food outside on the window ledge during winter.
Now, the place is full of life.
We hauled soil. We leveled the backyard with a roller.
We planted grass and trees that have now grown strong.
And this year, the Wisteria bloomed — the wildest, most personality-filled plant I know.
We moved furniture around a hundred times — my favorite sport.
My partner always laughs and tells me, “Be good,” which really means, “Please don’t start moving the furniture again.”
But I think he’s made peace with it.
Sometimes we feel like going out for a walk… and end up just stepping out into the backyard.
Because here, you can hear the silence.
The sound of children playing.
The crickets.
The wind.
A kind of silence that heals.
Moving forward. With gratitude.
Yes, one foot is already in Greece.
But while we’re still here… we live in this space fully.
With love.
Because it deserves it.
Because it gave us so much.
Because this was our sanctuary.
We lived beautifully here.
But now, our dream is taking us somewhere new.
💬 A question for you, dear reader:
What have you felt during each move in your life?
Did you have regrets? What did you take with you?
Or maybe… have you stayed in your very first home?
I’d love to hear your story in the comments.
