A small find on the eastern coast of Chalkidiki
This spring we took a detour down a road in Sithonia and ended up somewhere we didn't expect.
Fteroti is a small hamlet on the eastern coast of Sithonia, with two tiny sandy beaches. One about 60 metres long, the other a little over 100. You can actually see it from the main road. In winter the sand beach almost vanishes under the water. You have a beautiful view across to Diaporos Island, no sunbeds, no beach bars. The water is clear, the bottom sandy.
We walked barefoot for a while and stayed longer than planned. That's usually a good sign.
How to find it
From the main road east of Nikiti, follow the direction of Vourvourou. Just past Livari beach, about a kilometre north, a small road leads down towards the coast. Follow it to the end. That's Fteroti.
Worth knowing
It's not organised, and getting there takes a little effort. But the beach is beautiful, genuinely quiet, and the view towards Diaporos Island makes the detour more than worth it.
